Our Royal Enfield journey began at Boni and Sonni's Motorcycle's in Mapusa, north Goa. We had been looking into buying an Enfield to tour around India, and it was there where we first spotted a dark red Bullett 350 that we would soon become very familiar with... After a few hours of deliberation, and a further few weeks of anxious waiting, the day arrived when we woke before sunrise to strap our rucksacks to our new Enfield, and set off through Goa's misty morning fields towards the border of Karnataka. With no real plan only a destination in mind, we travelled on to Kerala where, inspired by a story from a fellow traveller, we left the hot beaches and plains of the coastal regions and rode up into the cool, green Nilgiri hills and the looming mountain ranges of the Western Ghats. Here we rode past cloud-filled valleys and mile upon mile of tea plantations, around precarious hair-pin bends where the sultry plains lay 2000m below, through scented Eucalyptus forests and tiny mountain villages... We finally descended at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in south Kerala, from where it was a short ride to Kanyakumari, the southern tip of India where three oceans meet and for us, Journey's End.
